Hikvision glass breakage detector

Hikvision glass breakage detector is intended for indoor installation, in locations where there is a lot of glass, and at windows where a movement detector is not desired. If it is also possible to detect movement in the room in question, we would recommend the combined PIR glass breakage detector.

The wireless glass breakage detector has the model number DS-PDBG8-EG2-WE and is a fully secured wireless two-way detector with glass breakage detection, sabotage protection, low battery monitoring and connection control. It can operate for up to 5 years from a built-in battery.

The Hikvision glass breakage detector can check an area of 9 metres from the sensor for glass breakage.

Range from the Hikvision Hub

The range from the Hub to the Hikvision glass breakage detector DS-PDBG8-EG2-WE is 1,600 meters in open field. The connection is continuously monitored by the Hikvision Cloud. If the wireless signal is intentionally disturbed it will be immediately reported via the Hik-Connect app on your smartphone. The wireless Hikvision signal is called Tri-X, and operates on 2 different frequencies in the 868mhz band and has AES-128 encryption.

Installation height

There is no ideal mounting height for the Hikvision glass breakage detector. As long as it is mounted close to glass, for example on the window, then it is fine.

Login and assembly

All Hikvision products are easy to connect. Registration is done with a QR code on each device. Put the Hik-Connect app in the “Enroll” position and you can start adding products by scanning the QR code in the app.

You can choose to only detect glass breakage when the alarm is switched on, or permanently.

Battery powered

The detector, like all Hikvision products of the AX Pro alarm system, runs on batteries of type CR123A and is therefore completely wireless. They are therefore easy to place anywhere without having to lay cables. The service life of the batteries supplied as standard is 5 years under normal use. After this time, they can easily be replaced for new ones for a few euros. These batteries are always available from stock.
